The tree puts forth in the sunlit spring,
but the three yin lie hidden at its root;
the woodcutter, not knowing this,
hacks it down for kindling.

Do not wantonly waste what nature gives. To understand a thing too little, then discard and squander it at will—what a pity that would be.
